Join us to visit the newly installed outdoor classroom and interactive learning trail at the South Hero Recreation Park and Folsom School!
South Hero Land Trust has been working with students, parents and teachers at Folsom, volunteers from the community, with support from many local partners including the Lake Champlain Basin Program and the OGE Charitable Grants Program, to design and build a series of interactive stations along the trail that starts at Folsom School and leads through the adjacent South Hero Recreation Park.
These interactive stations include activities for the whole family, and will be a resource for Folsom classes, as well as provide fun & educational activities for walkers on this public trail!
Middle School students at Folsom have been working hard to design and build these stations with us, and they are ready to show off their work to the community!
Come by on Saturday, November 10 for a morning of festivities, including outdoor games and fun activities, hot apple cider and other treats, and a walking tour of the trail and stations!
What kinds of activities are at the stations you ask? Visit the math station and our volunteers will show you a quick trick used by loggers to measure the height of a tree using only a stick, your arm, and a tape measure! Come by the art station to learn how to make Andy Goldsworthy-style art pieces and nature mandalas. Join us for a fun game to get us moving, join the tour with Guy, or simply explore the area on your own, and more!
No RSVP necessary, but if you have questions please contact SHLT programs Director Guy Maguire at firstname.lastname@example.org. See you there!
