South Hero CROP Hunger Walk 2026

South Hero Land Trust is pleased to be returning as the featured speaker on this year’s CROP Hunger Walk.

The annual CROP Hunger Walk is organized locally by the Congregational Church of South Hero, and is a fundraiser to fight food insecurity in our community and around the world. The walk is less than 1.5 miles round trip from the Congregational Church of South Hero to Bayview Crossing, with important visibility on Route 2. The walk is wheelchair accessible.

Distance: less than 1.5 miles round trip.

The route is paved, and will go along the side of South Street, use the pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Route 2, then along the sidewalk of Route 2 to Bayview Crossing.

Twenty-five percent of the total raised will be shared evenly between the Grand Isle Food Shelf and the Food for Thought summer food and literacy program. Seventy-five percent will provide people nationwide and worldwide with food, water, materials for recovery from disasters, and the tools, seeds, animals and support needed to grow food and access clean water. CROP began in 1947 as a way to help farmers in the Midwest share grain with hungry neighbors In post-World War II Europe.
