• Gifts of Stock

  You can make a gift of appreciated securities (publicly traded stocks, bonds, ETFs and mutual fund shares) to SHLT while avoiding capital gains tax. You will also receive an income tax deduction for the fair market value (average high and low prices on the day of the transfer).

• IRA Donations

  If you are 70½ or older, giving from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) can help reduce your taxable income — and for those over 73 who must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), an IRA gift is a simple way to fulfill this.

• Planned Giving

  By including SHLT in planned giving, you are setting up a legacy of supporting conservation and community. A charitable bequest is a gift of cash, securities, bonds, real estate, or other assets specified in a will, either as a designated dollar amount or as a percentage of an estate.
