Join us, your neighbors, and fellow SHLT supporters at Snow Farm for morning snacks and coffee, our annual member meeting, and a celebration of all we’ve accomplished together in the last year.

This gathering is free and open to all. RSVPs are encouraged.

We’ll be gathering at Snow Farm Vineyard and Distillery, the oldest commercial vineyard in Vermont.

The morning begins with an optional nature walk at 9am led by Terry Maron and Gordon Coates, local Master Naturalists, and Sidra Hoffman, environmental educator and former SHLT intern. Terry, Gordon, and Sidra will take us on a tour of the conserved woods and meadows of the property, while teaching us about the flora and fauna that live here. On this loop we’ll swing by Fox Hill, the highest point in Grand Isle County, and one of the best views of Lake Champlain you’ll ever see. 

At 10am, join us under the big tent for coffee and locally-catered brunch, followed by some updates about our work and a few words from our Executive Director. We will finish our meeting with our featured Speaker Mary Lake.

About Mary Lake: A South Hero native and graduate of Folsom, Mary Lake grew up with a sense of deep appreciation for farmers. She followed that passion into a career, and is now a well-known shearer, butcher and shepherd based in Tunbridge, Vermont. She raises sheep on her own farm, and travels across the Northeast for hire processing sheep, goats, pigs and small bovines. Mary works with the Vermont Sheep and Goat Association to promote healthy and efficient sheep and goat production. She leads shearing and butchering workshops to help other farmers learn ethical practices, and is a tireless advocate for sustainable food systems.
