Volunteer Work Party at Tracy Woods

  • Tracy Woods 41 Tracy Road South Hero, VT, 05486 United States (map)

We will be working to restore South Hero’s natural areas with a volunteer work party at Tracy Woods Community Trail.

Tracy Woods was conserved in 2018 as a part of the Tracy Woods Conservation Project. The property consists of 35 acres of managed woodland, 7 acres of active farm fields and a 450-foot stretch of Lake Champlain shoreline. The one-mile community trail loop features a cedar grove, a hemlock forest and a wetland.

The goal for the day is to cut back aggressively growing Staghorn sumac along the trail, as well as work on trail drainage with the construction of boardwalks.

All are welcome, but please leave pets at home.
Please Bring: Water bottle, gloves (we’ll have extra), and clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. We have some hand tools to share, but if you have your own shovel, loppers and/or clippers, it never hurts to bring extra just in case!

We will also provide snacks and drinks.
